everything you need to know…
How to prepare for your trial:
After you have a zoom call with our team we will request that you send us photos of: yourself, your dress and your inspiration concepts for both hair and makeup on each day. Make sure that your hair is down in the photos so we can see the color and texture of your hair. This helps us determine if you need to make any changes to your hair before coming to your trial, or if you will need to have extensions to achieve the look. With the photos of your dress, we can visualize your desired hairstyle and decide if we have any suggestions for you to consider. If you have a veil or any hair décor we recommend bringing it as well. We also have a wide selection of hair ornaments that we can bring if requested. Please follow our styling instructions of how to prep your hair properly depending upon hair type and desired style.
Remember that during your trial communication is key. Our styling team has been trained to encourage your feedback so that we can accommodate any changes that you’re not comfortable with. Please don’t hesitate to tell us if something isn’t right, it will give us the opportunity to adjust the look to ensure that everything is perfect on your big day.
Last, but not least remember that this is just the trial. Don’t expect everything to be perfect the first time. Trials are meant to try different things and hear your feedback so that we can achieve the ultimate goal of having everything exactly the way you want it on the wedding day. The purpose of having a trial is to see what needs to be adjusted or changed in order to execute the perfect look on the wedding day. We also suggest, considering a back up style in the case it is windy or extremely hot on your wedding day.
We’re an “On-location” salon…
We are a preferred vendor at these hotels.
* Pueblo Bonito hotels with permission from Hotel – Explanation on zoom call
Permitted entry with external wedding planner. Clarify hotels regulations before signing contract.
Exfoliate – with a gentle scrub before your makeup appointment to remove any build up to ensure that your foundation goes on smoothly. Don’t get sunburnt and be sure to hydrate well. If you have dry skin eat foods high in Omega 3 as well as take supplements: fish oil, vitamins C, D & E leading up to your appointment. Avoid any last minute treatments that your skin is not used to in order to avoid unexpected breakouts or dryness. We recommend starting facials 6-8 months prior to your wedding and visiting a brow specialist to shape your brows professionally before your big day. If you have hyperpigmentation you can read this blog to find out more on how to treat this before your wedding week.
Wet or dry?: If you are having a blowout please have your hair wet upon starting your appointment. We will bring water bottles if showering before your appointment is not an option. Otherwise if you are just having a hairstyle (dry style) it’s important that you have your hair DRY when we arrive. We will add the styling products needed unless you have something that you prefer. Be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner as hotel products most likely will bring unexpected results. We recommend only putting conditioner on midshaft thru roots and brushing thru in the shower parting your hair where you prefer to have it parted.
For up-do’s : wash your hair the day before and use only a little conditioner mid-shaft thru ends.
If you want curls or waves: Do not iron your hair if you would like curls or waves unless you have extremely coarse or curly hair and it is your normal process to flat iron before curling to smooth out the frizz. In this case use a defrizzing product while it is wet before drying. If your hair has a hard time holding curls or is thin, add mouse from roots to ends and flip your hair in the opposite direction of its natural growth while it is drying so it will hold the style better and have more volume.
Oily hair: If your hair gets very oily after one day you should wash it the day of your wedding and request a blowout. The idea is to have your hair a little dirty so it holds the style better. But too oily is not good. Use your best judgment on having your hair slightly dirty for your appointment.

“I am OBSESSED with their spray tan formula! It gives the perfect natural bronze glow. I had a spray tan party for me and my 5 bridesmaids the day I arrived and it was the best decision I made! I was hesitant because I was afraid it would rub off on my dress or look orange, but every single one of us was blown away with how natural it looked and our skin was not orange at all, just the perfect shade of bronze. We all looked like we were glowing in the photos! Their technicians use Norvelle Sunless tanning solution. Since having my tan done with them I’ll only go to salons that use the same formula.”
