Today I wanted to discuss the new travel restrictions for those of you traveling to Mexico for your big day.
Two weeks ago the health minister of Cabo San Lucas announced that Cabo is going from the Yellow level, back to the Orange level. What that means is hotels are allowed to be at 30% occupancy, restaurants are at 60% as long as they follow governmental rules for social distancing in regard to: tables and bar stools, temperature checks, and hand sanitizer or sinks available upon entry. You are required to wear a mask when entering and leaving restaurants, bars, as well as your hotel. If you are going to do excursions, you will be required to wear a mask and social distance as well.
As of January 26th, 2021, the United States is requiring all travelers to get a COVID19 test showing a negative result within 72 hours of your flight back into the United States. When in Cabo, your hotel or villa property may include your test cost in your nightly rate with a person on-site to perform your test. If not, there is a testing site at the airport as well as other places in Cabo. The cost of the test should be anywhere between $30 to $45 usd.
Some states are requiring a seven day quarantine upon your return home, so double check with your local government. Canada’s restrictions are pretty strict, so if returning to Canada I would recommend doing research to find their most up to date regulations.
