For the pre-wedding photo session she wanted a style that looked casual and fit her personality. Tierney has long, blonde, medium-thick hair. We opted for this timeless, half-up / half-down style that incorporated a low bohemian rope braid. I was sure to loosen the braid to give it some extra texture to the overall look.
It’s always fun to incorporate braids with hair that has a variety of colors (highlights, low lights, ombre, etc.) It shows the texture better than hair that’s predominately just one color. Sometimes brides who have solid-colored hair show us inspiration photos of hair with more contrast and we have to explain to them that unless they add some color to their hair the finished look may not be exactly like the photo they desire.
STYLE TIP: For the best looking braids, I prefer using baleage color rather than highlights. If you want to see the difference, visit our Pinterst Page and look at the board entitled “Beautiful Color.”
For Tierney’s photo shoot, we used Temptu Airbrush Foundation with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe, as well as their contouring palette. We also added individual lashes and used the Naked 2 palette for her eye color. On her lips was Pigalle lipstick from NARS.
