Mandi & Scott’s Wedding

Mandi Meng is from New York City. The first time we spoke on the phone I was in New York for Fashion Week also. We chatted briefly. From our conversation I could tell this was going to be a really amazing wedding and I was so excited to be part of it. If I remember correctly, Mandi is the Director of Marketing, Communications & Digital Media for French Connection. Since she is in the fashion industry she has a great eye for detail and exquisite taste.

When she was here a few months before her wedding we did her trial, and I met Scott briefly. Both of them were super easy going and nice to be around. She wanted to try the spray tan to make sure that she liked the way it looked. The tan turned out perfectly so she decided to book it again 2 days before her wedding. We looked thru some of her ideas, and she showed me pictures of her dress. She had brought the (bendable) silver leafed crown so we could decide how we wanted to incorporate it into her hairstyle. When we did the trial it was towards the end of our summer, so it was SUPER hot in Cabo. She mentioned that her hair doesn’t hold curl well unless you use a lot of product and a hotter iron. I highly recommended that we add some extensions so that they will hold the curl even if her natural hair falls a little bit. Luckily by the time her wedding came around Cabo wasn’t as hot, but I’m really glad that we took that precaution because her hair stayed looking fabulous thru out the night.

For her make-up we used Temptu Pro Airbrush Makeup and we chose from our selection of lashes to find the one that best fits her lash length and eye shape perfectly. Next I followed a photo of the way she wanted her eyes to look. To achieve this look first I primed her eyes with with MAC paint pot in “Painterly”. I used “Burnout, Limit & Darkside” from the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay. Next I lined her lashes with YSL black Gel eyeliner added waterproof mascara and lined the inside waterline with black eyeliner pencil. Next we did a little highlighting and contouring with Anastasia of Beverly Hill Contouring Palette and finished off the look with a “Whirl” Lipliner from MAC and little “Shanghai Spice” lipstick.
