Jessica & Jonathan: a vow renewal

Jessica and Jonathan’s elegant desert vow renewal was rooted in their love for Los Cabos and for one another. Years earlier Jonathan proposed to Jessica while in Cabo, since then the resort destination has held a special place in their hearts.

As designers and owners of their design company Taylor + Taylor, L.A. based Jessica and Jonathan had years of aesthetic experience and left no detail untouched. They created a thoughtfully planned and meaningful renewal that included treasures and pieces that complimented the rustic, natural beauty that is Los Cabos. In a ceremony that was both sentimental and intimate, Jessica and Jonathan renewed their vows at an abandoned century-old lighthouse. After that they spent a second honeymoon at an estate of a late Baja sugar baron dating back to the 1870’s & befriended “Lolo, the Beer Drinking Donkey” (only in Cabo) . They capped off the celebratory events at Huerta Los Tamarindos, one of San Jose del Cabo’s finest farm-to-table experiences.

What moved me most about the renewal of Jessica and Jonathan was the simplicity of the ceremony and the of the styling. Understated sophistication abounded; it was casual, yet elegant and thoughtfully discerned. Pops of color here and there, organic materials and elements native to the Baja finished off a gorgeous celebration over several enjoyable days. Most importantly, Jessica and Jonathan were captured authentically through the lenses of frequent collaborators Tiffany J Photo and LMarie Photo. The duo succeeded in capturing the entire Baja experience so artfully that their photos were featured in Magnolia Rose Magazine, Issue 5.

Jessica and Jonathan were so clearly at ease with one another and, most importantly, so in love that it seamlessly translated thruout their photos. Felicidades, friends!

On Jessica

Jessica had a natural beauty that was glowing and I didn’t want to take away from that. We used a gold palette on her eyes and neutral colors on her lips with a touch of blush and light contouring. I wanted her skin to glow and her curls to be wild and free. Even when we pinned them up loosely I wanted to be sure that the style was easy and soft to fit her style and personality.
