6 Make up brushes that every woman should have.

I’m sure many makeup artists have their own special preferences, but in our own working experience, we’ve found these to be our favourite must haves. We’de get stressed if we should we ever forget to bring them to a bridal makeup service.

#1 A foundation brush.

I really like this MAC 190 brush, it feels so soft on the skin and easily spreads foundation without absorbing too much product.

#2 A concealer brush.

Concealer is important when you want to apply eye shadow. It keeps the colour from fading, creasing, and leaking. I pick MAC 195, because I can use the point to reach close in the corners of the eyes and to use for covering small blemishes of the skin.

#3 Shadow brush.

Mac’s 252 large shadow brush is ideal for the application of eye shadow. I find that the little sponges or brushes that come in eye shadow kits are either too small or too rough on the delicate eyelid skin. You can use the flat part of the brush for the lighter colour and then use the tip to contour or add a darker shade. *I didn’t mention a powder brush since there are different good ways to apply it. You can either use a brush, or applicator or puff. Sometimes I even skip the powder when my skin feels dry in cool weather.

#4  The blending brush.

It’s easy to notice the difference between a shadow application that has not been properly blended to one that has.

I recommend to always have one of these, the MAC 224 blending brush. I’ve used some other brands and I’ve not had good experiences with them since the hairs fall out easily and are annoying to pick off of your nicely blended shadow.

#5 The angled brush.

Owning a brush like MAC’s 263 angled brush, really goes a long way. You can use it to get really close to the lash line,  to perfect the winged-cat-eye look… and even to define your brows. Amongst other makeup styles and tricks. A total must have for sure!

#6 The blush brush.

I do prefer the narrow and light blush application, rather that that wide range blushed cheek as seen in these photos.

This MAC 116  blush brush is one of my personal favourites. There are different kinds in different sizes and shapes, but this one seems to apply well on most face shapes.
